How do I setup my Netgear wireless Router to connect to my computer wirelessly?

I have a Netgear WGR614 54 Mbps wireless router and would like to know if there is any way to connect it to the wireless PCI card (802.11g 54 Mbps) on my PC. I would essentially like to have the Netgear router plugged in with my Sparkcom ADSL 4 port LAN router at the phone line and have it transmit the ADSL signal to the Wireless PCI card. I think this should be possible, it says it works with a LAN connection to the PCs Network Adaptor but I see no reason why it shouldnt connect wirelessly. And my next question is...how can this be done? I have been at it for weeks and this is my last resort. Thanks in advance.

  2. ok well i have the same router and i have a wireless computer and a laptop well firstly load the c-ds and then you need to let windows configure your internet not netgear even though it says different on the box then plug ur router to your modem then you should find your router when you go on internet options on your control pannel and then also you need to keep refreshing the list untill your router name comes up
  3. the basic phisical setup is : 1 connect cable or dsl modem by ethernet cable to the gateway/ routers wan port. 2 configure each computers network configration to use wirleless and configure tcp/ip to use dhcp. 3 once the setup is configured turn off the modem . router and all computers. wait at least one minute. 4 turn on the cable modem first and wait for the status ligght to indicate it . next turn on ur router and observe its status light to indicate it is communicating with the cable modem . last turn on ur computer . they should all connect automatically . good luck
  4. while using netgear in combination with sparkcom.. first of all change the ip address of wgr614..(if ip of sparkcom n wgr614 are of samenw)..also change its starting dhcp and ending dhcp addresses... connect sparkcom in the wan port of wgr614...enable DHCP in all comps.. if u r using version 5 or 6 of WGR614..u hv to enable wireless option manually ..from the wireless settings.....also see that access control list option in wgr614 must be disabled...try this
