High Speed Wireless Router

How can I set Win XP Pro stop recognizing and connecting to other wireless routers in my neighborhood?

This is very annoying as my computer discovers other wireless routers and it causes interference. I have lots of disconnections and repair and connections.

1. Look at the channel your router is using and compare it to those around you -- its best to use your own channel if possible. Also, some cordless phones (2.4GHz) will cause interference as they use the same frequency as 802.11 wireless.
2. im pretty sure if you go to control panel and go to wireless networking you maybe can disable it?
3. turn off the radio or wireless from searching and have a dedicated wireless.....you probably(i havent done it before) which is a manual set up...it is aggravating to know all the numbers...
