wireless routers? ok, i got problem. Which is better? i go buy a wireless router from them, MTS, (company takes care of internet, phone. etc.) and they come at my house and then they will connect it. They will charge me about $200. or i just go buy a wireless router outside, let's say best buy and figure it out how to connect it (which i don't really know how?????and don't any much about routers) then my parents tell me that we just go buy a wireless router outside, they don't even know what a router is (LOL). Now, i really want to get a good reason why i should pick either go to mts and let them do all the stuff or go outside and buy a wireless router and figure it out on my own.
How do you use two wireless routers to expand the range of your wireless network? I have researched this quite a bit but the answers are somewhat elusive. No matter where I put the wireless router in our house, no matter which brand I buy, no matter how large the antennas are on the router, there are some places in the house that get very sporadic or low connections wirelessly. I have several mainstream wireless routers. Has anyone successfully enabled a connection between two routers to improve wireless reception? I also tried a range extender, and it worked, except that I ended up getting constant IP conflicts, plus the thing consistently lost its connection to the internet every night.

Is it possible to connect two wireless routers together? I have a situation I need resolved. I live in the basement of a house, and there is a wireless router on the main floor where I connect to the internet. I pay the guy upstairs my share of the bill. His router has a very basic setup. No encryption whatsoever, and the SSID is linksys. It is connected to a cable modem for internet service. I have a router in the basement (we both have the same one, a Linksys WRT54G) and wanted to know if I can make my OWN wireless network, and not have to use his by connecting my wireless router to HIS wireless router. The only reason I need to connect to his wireless router is so I can have the internet. So will my idea work? Can I, without any wires, connect MY wireless router in the basement, to HIS wireless router upstairs, and the connect my two laptops to my router and still have internet access? Is it possible to do this without touching the router upstairs? I know DHCP is enabled upstairs. Or am I out of luck, and I have to buy a wireless bridge?
Can I connect two wireless routers on the same connection? I have my main connection upstairs and I have a lot of "no signal" spots throughout the house. We tried an access point but it didn't work well. We have lan cable, and were planning on hard-wiring connections in all the downstairs rooms. I wanted to know if we could just hard-wire another wireless router to give solid signals throughout the whole downstairs or are we limited to just one wireless router per connection?
Can wireless routers perform slower over a period of time? I've had the Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G router for over 1 year now and it seems like it has gotten slower since I bought it. Do wireless routers create their own internet connection or do they require a connection? I want to buy a wireless Router. I heard it establishes its own connection for each device receiving it so they dont interfere with each other and mess up the connection. Is this true? I also don't want to use my current internet provider (Verizon). In order to use the router, do I still need to be paying to a company for internet or does the router establish its own connection?
What are the fastest wireless routers with a wireless printer connection? I need a fast wireless router for home use that will also allow two computers to print from the same printer. The Apple Airport extreme router does what I need, but at a price. The Apple one works because there is a USB port at the back which allows printers to be plugged in. Both computers then printe from this. It needs to be compatible with both Mac and PC! Thanks :)
I have a question about wireless routers like Linksys? Ive seen some wireless routers at Walmart and i would like to know how they work.
